Lee Hall: Exactly the information I needed and couldn't find anywhere else, Thanks!
mightyone1234: Thanks for the video. I used a hair rubber band to fix my Philips DVD 704. The player was made in 2001 and now it still works! They are 99 cents for a hundred at the dollar store. They are smaller and thinner than the original ring but still work.

MrHiltondang: How to fix Coby DVD-514
Kenneth Ongena: thx alot thx to this video i now know what to do
machack adim: i had a DVD player which is doesn't working anymore .. it cannot read some disc .. what should i do ?
gman76utube: I hv a cyberhome 300 player that failed. First check power supply, 5V and 12V that power all the boards. The 5V supply was at ground. Found the PS board had a couple bulging caps, replaced them (16V caps instead of 10V), hooked it back up, powered it up, it works again. However light on front was flickering. Pushed eject button, drawer did not open. Noticed some friction. That was problem. Drawer was stuck, caused motor current and the PS to draw lots of current, causing the caps to stress.
Susan G Comin' For The Cash: next time I'll think twice about throwing out malfunctioning devices if I can fix them myself...with Youtube help
Raquel Perez Melendez: I fixwd my DVD with this!! so good! :)
Dyo Kasparov: glad I helped you ;-)
Dyo Kasparov: the signal that says the DVD player that it's closed, well the thing that makes it,it's broken :-/
there must be holes in the corner of the place you place the DVD disk, look at them and make sure everything is alright in there
sehnzeleid: Good info, but Coby DVD players are so cheaply made the loader mechanism is honestly junk to begin with. I have much older players with massive amounts of use that still load flawlessly. Heck, that Panasonic VCR sitting below it is much better made mechanically by comparison.
