How To Clean A Dirt Bike Carb

What do you think about this video?

Shaun Hicks: I think its great that young girls are able to do maintenance and not just ride.

Trey Ezernack: Can you make a video of you putting it back together ? I took all my tubes off and don't know how to put them back on.

Sean Logan: damn dude, you sure know alot about this stuff. on the right path man!

Joshua Hobbs: I rid a suzuki dr125sm k9 and my engine keeps over reving doing my head in right now any idears

Marshall Soetaert: My bike idled fine before I cleaned it, now it just dies. And it backfires a lot. Any idea what the problem could be?

DanteSD17: @importfilta What bike is it ? Thatll be a definit help man

importfilta: @DanteSD17 Alright just did the cleaning and now there is gas in my float bowl YEAH! Still won't start though. Charged battery and checked spark plug everything looked good. Won't kick over and my electric start is just making a huming sound. ARRGGGG Any suggestions?

DanteSD17: @jugganutts Put the slide back in the top of the carb and screw it in, make sure to line it up with the slits.

Alex Gibson: yo you know any thing about yz carbs? i think thats what is wrong with mine it will not kick over but plugs are getting tons of gas,any advice?

SUCKmyFIREbawl: "Performance Carb" hahaha its an XR

RockGuitarist1: Should I drain the bike of gas before I do this or can I just leave it in?

DanteSD17: @alexdahley11 :P

DanteSD17: @DIRT21000 This was a honda xr100 but now i have a YZ125

caleb martin: learn!

hunter turk: this was a lot of help, thanks man.

VremGO: be sure if you put the camera down, you don't point it outside next time, it's very hard to see anything that isn't outside with the camera trying to adjust to the outside's brightness. :P

MrBobsrevenge: so my dirt buke wont start and gas doesnt run into the carb and the throttle is stuck how should i fix it?

saulnier8: hey what is the plastic peace that sits on the main jet and if my carb is overfilling does that mean my jets are plugged please help

DanteSD17: @Mrfitrider1 ] The carbs job is to control the amount of gas flowing into the cylinder, it also takes the fuel and air from and creates the perfect mixture to be injected from the main jet to the piston. In other words, without it you would just have a mess of fuel pooring into the cylinder and it would flood. The float bowl contains the gas and the Main jet ( 1:40 ) injects the perfect amount of gas. think of it as the 'heart' of the bike, without it, the bike would not function!

DanteSD17: @asascujevic More or less, mikunis dont have a twist top they have a bolt on throttle slide

importfilta: Nice job thanks man!

faarro hines: hey what two screws are you talkn about on the right of the carb i see the first one but where is the other?

calebssausage: Yes you forgot to clean the needle and seat. You did clean the carb all the way.

DanteSD17: @faarro1396 The two screws holding on the float bowl bro.

stevebaum: Nice job young man, I learned some valuable stuff from you today.

Ashton Lanier: a wired brush'll work also.

DanteSD17: @ed0985587 Lol i couldn't fix a computer to save my life :P I pretty much learned on my own

ronmann606: at f irst i was like oh a kid but it was actually pretty good although the bikes you tagged are a lot different

DanteSD17: @gallowman89 ...Actually? that sucks, i was looking forwards to some cold start videos this winter

Demitri Sokolov: Nice jeep bro

unfukabul: hey just a quick question i got your keihin big brother here on my xr600 its the pd 8 a g b l g 7 43 mm and lately its been playing up back firing and when i start it with full chock it runs fine but when it warms up i switch off the chock then it runs for about 30 sec to 2 mins then stalls do u know what would be wrong with the carb oh yes and i bought a new spark plug soit aint that plz help

DanteSD17: @johndeere445 No problem dude!

Anton Milošević: Is it the same with a 2 stroke carb??

quadkid4: watch all of your seals and o-rings with that carb cleaner. some cleaners expand rubbers like o-rings and gaskts.

Ford Mustang: yea havn't changed the air screw but i did change to rpm screw and i also anit riding it hard enough......

Chris K: damn i feel stupid learning this from a kid younger than me lol, wish my dad taught me all this crap. good video though man

Alex Hunter: THANKS ALOT BUDDY THIS VIDEO REALLY HELPED ME.

DanteSD17: @02stampede Thanks, i enjoy taking it apart

ramon ortiz: how can i remove a tripped jet?

alecpmarine: I cleaned my carb and i put it back on and i rode it for a day and then realized the brownish yellow drain hose on the bottom of the carburetor is leaking a good amount of fuel. what could the problem be? i watched this video after i realized the problem hoping i would see a way to fix it. please get back to me asap.

DanteSD17: @jchristo Glad to hear man :)

cheezee32: We have the same bike as you, 08 Honda crf 100, got it brand new and not much time, couple months later, it quit working. I changed the spark plug, oil, out new gas in, and cleaned to carburetor but yet still fails to even start. Would Anyone happento know anything????

DanteSD17: @megatron2015 When you pop the clutch? First off what bike do you have, PM me I can probably help you get it going no problem

DanteSD17: @saulnier8 Its a float protector, most carbs have them, many don't. If its overfilling that means your floats are plugged by dirt, clean the float assembly that lets it move, clean it with compressed air and bend the float forks by pushing down a liiiiitle bit, make sure not to break them. It happened to me, this will fix it

Gamer4Life223: Does one have to drain the gas first? I have yet to take mine apart. just asking =)

phantomshtter: You should just soak the jets in carb cleaner for about ten minutes then use some wire or fishing line to poke through and floss them. Then put them in clean carb cleaner and give a swirl. You'll have the cleanest jets in town.

Shrimps: Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback. The reason I was able to get sales is because I offer rare shrimps for sale. Not many other online place is willing to take the risk at shipping high priced shrimps. That is my way of earning online.
