IwannaMediaClips: Thanks! Works beautifully!! Bought me a little more time till my local
provider has the Iphone 6 in stock which will likely not be for ever...
khine myint: it is wonderful! at first my friend and me though it is impossible. But at
the end we didn't believe our ear. thank you a million Sir.
Interesting Ted: I have been troubleshooting my gf's iPhone 4 for weeks. You sir are
brilliant. I tested your theory by making a phone call and placing my
finger on that same are of the PCB (while talking) to apply pressure. It
Thank You for your brilliance!
busyjaymz: This is the type of stuff to put on YouTube. Great video.
Bon Nanza: Tks for this easy simple fix Rolando, it worked!
john dela vega: Thanks for sharing. It really worked.
Candie Baltz: OMG get to the point
fred molina: I have an iphone 4s, callers can't hear me when i call them, but when i put
on loud speaker they can hear me... WILL THIS WORK FOR THE 4S TOO?
PeteBaldwin: Just tried it and it worked! I'm amazed. I thought this would be like
putting toothpaste on CDs to fix them or putting your sopping wet phone in
rice but no - it actually worked perfectly!
To confirm, the mic technically worked before but only very very quietly.
If you put your mouth around the little speaker on the bottom left (next to
the charger) and made a loud noise, you could hear it but not if you just
spoke normally. It worked fine on speakerphone because that's a different
mic - it's the one on the top next to the headphone jack - the little tiny
Definitely worth a go as it only takes a couple of minutes and if it
doesn't work, you're no worse off than you were before!
Matthew Rayment: Thanks. This worked for me.
Viv Smitheram: My iPhone 4s has no sound whatsoever. The volume up and down shows the
slide. The silent button shows 'ringer' in settings, sound, the slide goes
up and down but the phone makes no sounds at all, no clicks, no ding when
you plug it into the charger, nothing..... So I decided to take the
logic/motherboard out of the faulty phone and put it into another fully
functioning 4s and in that phone there was no sound, so the conclusion is
that it is a logic/motherboard fault. Has anyone any ideas about how to fix
I need to mention also that I have reset it, restored it and it is still
the same. It is running 7.1.2 and I used the very latest iTunes version.
Melanie Haage: Sadly, this did not work for me. My iPhone 4 mic is still dead. I never
dropped it so maybe that's why this didn't work.
setonix850: ITS FIXED !! I have a 4s and all of a sudden this morning people could not
hear me, however I could hear them. The phone certainly had not been
dropped but is nearly 3 years old. Oddly enough using voice memo from
utilities, you could just hear your voice if you shouted at the phone and
there was a bit of rhythmic static mixed in. So I found Rolando's assured
voice and purchased an iPhone Repair Kit. Sure cheaper than buying a new
phone ($14.00 Aud). I was a bit concerned initially, as the white spot &
black covering was absent just adjacent to the battery. There was about
3-4mm of circuit board visible instead. I went ahead anyway and found the
first bit of cardboard a little too thick. The second from a cereal packet
worked fine and so does the phone much to my relief. Rolando, you're a
genius and thanks heaps ! PS: I think you'll find the miniscule screws on
the 4s require the Pentalobe type screwdriver (in Australia anyway).
Creepyisawesome10: Thats the goddamn opposite of what my problem is.
Tina x: I dropped my iPhone 4 this morning and nobody could hear me when I tried to
call them or when they called me. Came across this video, followed the
instructions and it worked perfectly!! Thank-you so much :)
Khajavalisir navabs: its 100% working
Felipe Cavalcante: THANK YOU MAN, YOU SAVED MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Max Vfour: This is amazing!!! It works!! Many many thanks!!
Kersten Toebben: thank you, this worked on my 4s (so far anyway). I just used a super tiny
phillips and it didn't seem to strip the pentelobal screws. thanks again!
Chris Overton: Worked for me. Thanks for posting!
souka987: Thank you so much it perfectly works 😀😀
Katayoun M: Didn't work for me :( is there any other way?
Ilja Panzer: worked like a charm
Justin Nelson: it don't work for the iphone 4s
Andrew Cross: For the piece of cardboard: Use a opening end of a 12 pack of Coke.
pleasedontstalkus: Thank you :)
Joanne Neal: After 3 attempts (one at thicker cardboard - but thinner was best) it
worked!! I am now receiving calls. Thanks for the instructions ;-)
Med Youcef: Amaaaazinnnggg !!! its perfectly work with my iPhone 4
Thank u very much u are a genius :D !!!!
John cox: This worked like a champ. To find out if this fix will help you, before
taking your back off press on the back of the phone over the area where you
will be adding the piece of cardboard. If you phone works with you pressing
on the back, this fix will work for you. Good luck.
Adriaan Putter: Awesome, thanks dude, worked like a charm!
Pete Fork: Loosening the screw shown here worked for me. The cardboard was not the fix.
I did loosen it all the way out just before it came out, and then tighened
it back half way I would say. It works again! they can hear me.
The question is how long this is going to last or if I will have to open in
it up again to loosen it more in the near future.
Thanks a lot!!
It would be helpful if you can tell us if it is still working after the
first time you loosened the screw. Thanks!!
Greatscott0420: thank you so much, I'm not sure what the fix was. I did a restore, added
the cardboard pieces and rapidly pushed speaker phone while in a call and
it seems to work. i hope everyone else gets their fix , haha
Carson Griffin: Great video with good explanations. however it cracked me up how much care
you put into unscrewing those two screws. I repair iPhones so I just keep
extra bags of screws on hand that are like 2 bucks apiece. haha it had
never crossed my mind that they would strip out and so far they haven't.
Pavan Shekar: This is really awesome! If you're ever in India... lemme know.. I'll buy
you a beer!
Valentin Munoz: Outstanding fix!!! Saved me some dough!
Danny Syrus: This didnt work for me. I tried many variations of this and nothing. :(
whitehorse1959: Great video. But replace your battery first! - if your phone is 18 months
or more old. 1) Go Ebay, 2) Buy replacement battery with TOOLS 3) Wait
excitedly for the package to arrive!!!! 4) 4 screws later, new power may
indeed solve the glitches you have with phone calls. 5) No promises, but
easy to do and cheap.
victormark1: Thanks,its working,good job
spygrant Gee: the easiest way to fix this problem is just holding firmly the apple logo
behind the phone and make a call why you are still holding tight the
logo,if you hear sounds all u an to do is open the phone cut a visit card
or any paper and put inside the phone, exactly behind the apple logo, dats
it,your phone is back to life. try it
pestul: I've noticed a few comments about 'loosening a screw'. Which screw would
that be? One of the pentalobe ones near the mic? I've tried everything
with a co-worker's iphone 4s, including replacing the dock.. maybe I've
just tightening the screws too much?
Wali Qadri: Wow.. It really worked like a piece of cake. Thanks alot. Why is this
Nadav Gang: IT DOSET WORK!!!!
pizzdude12: Wow this actually worked, nice job!!!!!!
Pouncy: Worked for me! Thank you so much!
Rocky Carrizales: Dude!!!!!!!!! It Works!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John cox: And YES it worked on my 4s...
Jesse Marzan: iphone 4 is ok now thanks
Gaurav Suri: worked :D
Anna Buckley: Thank you so much for this video!! I had the same problem as your wife with
my Iphone 4 (only in calls the other person couldn't hear my voice). I
followed your steps and now it WORKS!! Thanks again for this clear and
useful video :)
