briggsfixer2: well when i go full throttel on my 5hp briggs it sounds like its back
fireing is it to rich or lean?
clubcar98: Nice um air filter there....... i just tuned my tractor runs great now and
what kind of pipe is that it kinda looks like PVC but idk pipes are
starting to look good though
adb140275: and last not as long... sell more engines. they dont give a damn about
there rep anymore
adb140275: she dont have one so im afraid i cant
adb140275: i work more on cars now, i'll be a tech at a gm dealership next year.
krankiev: lol at your 3.5hp air filter.
Michael Tita: you sound like a kid, but i must say you sound like a genius in this vid.
thanks for the info!
toadabc: There is hope for the young generation!
slimepig: while running yesterday with the air filter off, it slowly flooded out, so
im figurin the float needs replacing as well.
themaritimeman: Sadly, yes. Most of the older B&S engines (including yours) runs better
than most of the new ones i've seen. I know people (including myself) that
own newer tractors with B&S engines that parts are breaking on all the
time, but my aunt, who owns a 1981 IH Cub with an 11 HP Briggs, has never,
ever had a problem, except the starter burning out from using it so much!
briggsfixer2: no i never choke on a hot start
adb140275: you sick bastard
adb140275: carb probably needs cleaned out, might need richened up too
adb140275: and of course to clean the little screen thats on a straw on the end of the
carb that goes into a tank. i can make a vid tomorrow if you want
stevesprinceofsteaks: Pretty good info young man. You got a lot to learn, but so do all of
us.:lol. You have a great start on what can be a very lucrative profession.
Good luck Sir!
yamaharules163: I am prettty sure Alex knows his stuff, I think tecumsehs never had syncro
adb140275: sounds like its running too lean
adb140275: all you need is the gasket that goes between the carb and the tank. its
called the diaphragm
SuperKONR: OMG THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! My low-end mixture is lean.
adb140275: @brent3360 your low end needle is too lean, refer to the video for
slimepig: my 11hp briggs is idling good, revs up and runs on fast good. after about
15 minutes of running it starts losing rpm's and will dye unless i choke
it. filter is clean. why would it do this after 15 minutes or so?
adb140275: lol yarmdan. anyways this video should help
lonnie6890: way to go. YES it is a Briggs. I have 4 of them myself.
adb140275: that was me that posted that comment, not adamlol
adb140275: what an eye for detail. lmao
donvito999: That's a tecumseh, deff not a briggs.
lyerlyman: I love the homemade exhaust. I'm going to fix mine that way. Good job.
brent underwood: i got a problem mines hard to start and when it runs and idles up and down
adb140275: well i gave away my other one to my friend adam (worlds biggest teenage
Laury79: Pretty impressive skills for someone so young.
lawnboy7260G: great video. the trusty snap-on pocket screwdriver fixes everything. i have
the same one.
kctyphoon: this kid is awsome.. hey man i got a b&s generator that wont stay running..
help me out here.. lol
adb140275: @briggsfixer2 sounds a little bit lean to me. does it do that with the
throttle open, too?
Braubeaton: Thank you soo much! This is THE BEST instructional I have ever seen ... and
heard! Brilliant. Now I know exactly why my old 8HP B&S is popping at idle.
brent underwood: i got a problem mines hard to start and when it runs it idles up and down
adb140275: ha, and you can go freak yourself
CHOPPERGIRL AIRWAR: I've come to the conclusion that carbeurators on these B&S small engines
are total crap.. difficult to tune, flakey, prone to clogging, and very
fuel inefficient. These things should be bulletproof rock solid and idiot
proof, and they are no where even in that ballpark. You spend more time
freaking around with your engine than actually using it.
niper99: yeah l agree with this kid, very well done. and yeah dont take davidsfarm
advice on how to fix lawnmowers l wouldnt.
themaritimeman: Cool! I actully read that B&S tunes their engines leaner than they should
be to make them more fuel efficient!
highdeserthater: briggs, if it was tecumseh it would knock
adb140275: @slimepig possible clogged fuel cap vent, causing a vacuum in the tank. try
running it with a loosened or removed gas cap, and try again.
briggsfixer2: @adb140275 no it sounds great at full throttel but it seems harder to start
know ... it will rn for a few seconds and die about 6 time then it will
MRkallek91: kid tries to be davidsfarm, i hate this. leave the master alone.
dingdangs: I have a briggs and strat 15.5hp intek engine in my mower. i cannot see the
adjustment screw on the carb only a black plastic cap that only turns 90
degrees each way. How can i adjust the carb on this engine?
Bigtrucker2007: That guy is far from a master. he gives out tons of info that i find to be
misleading, and he leaves out a lot of important info. im not by any means
trying to be him. I'm SO SORRY that i give out helpful information!
slimepig: is the starting point on the top screw 1 1/2 turns from closed as well? Ive
got it way outta whack!
Matthew Poole: THAT ISNT EVEN A BRIGGS ENGINE at least it didnt look like it!! i thought i
wasnt trippin when i saw the carb
