Franklin Smith: I have a problem I have a B&S 12.5 HP riding mower that stalls after about five minutes of mowing I have changed plug cleaned carb and filter checked fuel lines and still it does the same wonder what it could be?

porky1452: I got the balls enough to say I didn't know why my engine sounded the way it did. But thanks to you I found out my top line was to lean. fixed it in a minute! thank you and keep rockin!

CHOPPERGIRL AIRWAR: I've come to the conclusion that carbeurators on these B&S small engines are total crap.. difficult to tune, flakey, prone to clogging, and very fuel inefficient. These things should be bulletproof rock solid and idiot proof, and they are no where even in that ballpark. You spend more time freaking around with your engine than actually using it.

adb140275: sounds like its running too lean

David Minard: i been working on a gambles mower with b&s engine i finally got it to run, now it only runs on high and it seems like no matter what i do it stays at high idle, when i move throttle it dies, what would that be?

adb140275: @slimepig possible clogged fuel cap vent, causing a vacuum in the tank. try running it with a loosened or removed gas cap, and try again.

slimepig: my 11hp briggs is idling good, revs up and runs on fast good. after about 15 minutes of running it starts losing rpm's and will dye unless i choke it. filter is clean. why would it do this after 15 minutes or so?

pcblah: @wastadkey you mean too rich because too much fuel without enough air will cut out a engine while when you open full throttle it gives enough air but still too much fuel to operate

join811: Hi! I just purchased a 1979 TORO 1132 Snowblower, 11HP Briggs and stratton engine. It's the original engine. Running unleaded fuel and led-addition-stuff. Had som issues with both idle and operating speeds, and your video was spot on! It was lean on idle, and lean main jet-setting. :) Thanks!

adb140275: @wastadkey im not so sure that your gokart would have a low end mixture... just seems like a clogged pilot jet to me.

adb140275: @wastadkey sounds like a partially blocked passage in the carb... you should take it apart and clean it.

slimepig: while running yesterday with the air filter off, it slowly flooded out, so im figurin the float needs replacing as well.

adb140275: @slimepig black fuel... drain all of the gas and put some fresh, clean gas in. sounds too rich to me though.
