slimepig: while running yesterday with the air filter off, it slowly flooded out, so im figurin the float needs replacing as well.

themaritimeman: Sadly, yes. Most of the older B&S engines (including yours) runs better than most of the new ones i've seen. I know people (including myself) that own newer tractors with B&S engines that parts are breaking on all the time, but my aunt, who owns a 1981 IH Cub with an 11 HP Briggs, has never, ever had a problem, except the starter burning out from using it so much!

adb140275: all you need is the gasket that goes between the carb and the tank. its called the diaphragm

adb140275: @brent3360 your low end needle is too lean, refer to the video for adjusting procedures

slimepig: my 11hp briggs is idling good, revs up and runs on fast good. after about 15 minutes of running it starts losing rpm's and will dye unless i choke it. filter is clean. why would it do this after 15 minutes or so?

CHOPPERGIRL AIRWAR: I've come to the conclusion that carbeurators on these B&S small engines are total crap.. difficult to tune, flakey, prone to clogging, and very fuel inefficient. These things should be bulletproof rock solid and idiot proof, and they are no where even in that ballpark. You spend more time freaking around with your engine than actually using it.

adb140275: @slimepig possible clogged fuel cap vent, causing a vacuum in the tank. try running it with a loosened or removed gas cap, and try again.

briggsfixer2: @adb140275 no it sounds great at full throttel but it seems harder to start know ... it will rn for a few seconds and die about 6 time then it will dyye out

dingdangs: I have a briggs and strat 15.5hp intek engine in my mower. i cannot see the adjustment screw on the carb only a black plastic cap that only turns 90 degrees each way. How can i adjust the carb on this engine?

Bigtrucker2007: That guy is far from a master. he gives out tons of info that i find to be misleading, and he leaves out a lot of important info. im not by any means trying to be him. I'm SO SORRY that i give out helpful information!

slimepig: is the starting point on the top screw 1 1/2 turns from closed as well? Ive got it way outta whack!
