Ryan Toomey: Will this work on cars that do not have a radiator cap and instead only
have a cap on the overflow reservoir?
Michael Caceres: Scotty,I've a Chevrolet Ventura 2001, in the lower intake manifold where
the cooling temperature sensor ( thread) is a hair line crack, how can you
fix without to take out the intake manifold, thank you.
George W: Nice test kit. I've always done it old school by pulling the oil dipstick
and checking it for chocolate milk as it were. As well as hydrocarbons in
the coolant. That test kit seems to let one know way before the coolant
does. What a time saver.
Railbox200: how accurate are these test?
strung0ut01: Hi Scotty, really appreciate all your tips. Just wondering I am getting
coolant in my sump, I haven't tried this combustion tester but did I
pressure test the cooling system and it isn't losing pressure, which should
rule out gasket failure correct? Any ideas how it could be getting into my
Aden Gilbert: You ever worked on a Hyundai Tiburon are the engines solid
Stan THE MAN: Hi Scotty kilmer I jus wanted to know is seafoam cleaner really good, or
bad for some cars. I have a 94 Toyota celica and its been sitting out for
about 4 years and I've been trying to get it back to its glory since I'm
the new owner. I changed the oil a few times but it still comes out dark
like black almost, I even changed my oil pan. I jus wanted to know if
seafoam really works, and should I use it????? Thank you for taking the
time to read this.
P.s I was doing research about seafoam and seeing different ways people
have done it but I wanted to ask you and anybody's opinion in this
playa187: Yo Scott, got a 2005 f150 and I have a burnt rubber smell coming from the
exhaust..just had the serpentine belt replaced about a month and half ago
cuz it was squealing and also the burnt rubber smell. Any idea what that
is? Is it a pulley sticking? When the belt was removed all pullies moved
freely. Any help would be great. Thanx guy
Sal Damian: hey scotty i have a question, i got my head re furnished because we
replaced the head gaskets and put it back together and my car started to
leak and my mechanic said that it had to be re welded and stuff , i haven't
had my car for a month and i have kinda lost hope of it getting fixed do
you think that re weld will stop the leak and make my car run back into
Mohammed jasim: How To Tell If Your Head Gasket Is Blown: http://youtu.be/QA7KVQq9vKA
Rudy Cadena: So i have a 1987 nissan d21 pickup, and i just replace the head gasket...
had the head machined before re installing... still getting alot of white
smoke from the tail pipe and running poorly when accelerating... any ideas
would be helpful... thank you...
***Classified***: What causes a head gasket to develop little leaks?
Petey Pablo: Mr. Kilmer, would you say a car losing coolant is a bad head gasket? i see
water dripping out the exhaust pipe and the water feels cold but i'm not
sure if it's actually coolant or not.
Ellen Clougherty: question, what if a seller knows he has a blown head gasket and does a
quick radiator flush and puts new antifreeze in before putting it up for
sale and doesnt start the vehicle, will it still show up on this test....
Latino America: Just tried the test on my honda civic 2004 gasoline engine and the fluid
turned GREEN instead of yellow.... isn't the green supposed to happen only
for DIESEL engines? What does this mean?
SkinnyFatBoyzz: love his energy
JohnnyTheCarNut V.: hello scotty i love your videos, see them all the time when i can.I wanted
to tell you i have a 1990 full ford bronco and today i started it and its
blowing white smoke out of the exhaust and smells rich plus i hardly drive
it because the tranny is not that great, please help, thank you.
TheReal SirKronik: Should the tester kit be air tight when doing the test? I did that and
sucked up coolant even after draining some out. Maybe I need to drain more
Love your videos btw.
Mathur Saravanan: mr. scotty kimer.. I have a doubt.. what's is the reason for the cooling
water getting low in radiator.. I checked there is no external leak, if I
go for a ride say 50 kms, the amout of water reducing is about 5-6 litres..
can u able to advice me?
MyAccountBitch: That's a $100 kit. Is there a cheaper way that might be as accurate and not
Rhonda Hernandez: I have a 2003 for expidition my oil cap is milky but the dip stuck is clean
wat can it be
Antonio catanese: Liquid green whats means? thanks for your answer
Mark Grace: Hey Scott how can you check a coil pack on a 97 ranger 2.3l
Matt Joines: My grandpa has an 80s ranger that I think the head gasket is blown on. It
smokes out of tail pipe real bad. I was thinking about buying for around
300. Would it be a waste of money if the head gasket was blown?
KCTnD: Dude, you are awesome! Hope you are making stacks of $$$ from the Tube!
You have given me some GREAT pointers.
Jason O'cass: Hi scotty i have a 1999 saab 93 b204e will steel seal fix my head gasket? I
pressume its the head gasket as when ive ran it for a while then shut it
off it overflows at the coolant resovoir cap pls help
amatelk956: Thanks Scotty ! Your the Best ! Yellow means Blown !
cannabean5: I do not have an overheating problem or any sign of oil in antifreeze or
water in the oil. I'm thinking of using this test because I cant figure out
what's going on. I have a new radiator cap 16 lbs (stock correct) but water
trys to surpass it and the upper hose swells or has a lot of pressure. Any
ideas? 2002 Chrysler Town and country 3.8l.
Michael Butler: Can I just throw the liquid down the drain when I am done with it?
MysteryWolph: I was skeptical about this stuff. I'm hearing more and more good things
about it. I blew a head gasket in my 94 Explorer (4.0 OHV V6). I sent it to
the shop, since the oil is milkshaked and I assumed it was too far gone for
a sealer to fix. Maybe I was wrong.
Falcedon: Hey Scotty I have a 2001 Chevy Malibu 3.1 v6 (famous for head gasket
problems) and I've noticed some problems. My coolant reservoir has a white
creamy gunk on the cap and inside the rim of the reservoir and there's a
leak under my manifold. Does this sound like a blown head gasket? My dad
has been a mechanic for over 20 years and he won't believe its a head
joecugo: The scumbags at Econo Lube tried to tell me I had blown head gasket and it
turned out it was fine
john hill: If theres a bad head gaskit doesn't water get into the oil also n turn,it a
grey color?? I was in il. a few months ago ,stopped at a shop off the
highway a guy did this test n said I had a blown headgaskit the car was
fine just ran it too hard I think its running fine
Randall Cheney: Hey, would this test come back positive if the intake manifold gasket was
Keelan Kennedy: how has this guy not got his own tv show??
Michael Chitwood: Great, informative video. Thank you.
Sami Hamid: Hey Scotty, have a 95 Civic EX here. After various overheating issues I
have replaced nearly everything involving the cooling system (cost me
little to nothing in money so not a major loss). New OEM rad cap, upper and
lower rad hoses, OEM thermostat (there wasn't one originally in the engine
when i first bought it HA) and new overflow bottle. slowing running out of
option as to why im overheating.
most of the time the needle goes up only in traffic after a while, so i
wanna point towards the fan. but the fan turns on when the needle rises up
a little (like midway), and then it drops back down to normal. also the
overflow bottle gets past the max line alot and the rad is almost bone dry
sometimes when i go to check the next day. so i cant believe that its only
a fan issue. ive bled the system several times, and for the most part the
car doesn't overheat much but after past experiences its a little
concerning to see that temp needle go up past normal.
Geisy Delgado: Hey scotty, I have a 2003 silverado 5.3
The truck is leaking alot of motor oil. I don't know where the leak is
coming from. It looks like it's coming from near the heads/block on the
right side. The left side looks clean, only the right is a mess oil
everywhere. Could you tell me where the leak could possibly be coming from?
Munky332: assuming this kit doesnt work on a diesel?
phenobarbitalmv75: I have a 2002 Chevy malibu and the gasket is blown ....if I would take it
to a mechanic..do anyone knows the price tag to repair it?
josh tattrie: Lol. I have watched a ton of your videos. Your work on a lot of Toyotas! I
would swear you worked at a Toyota dealership. Basically one in every
video. Your good, I work at a Toyota dealership as a tech, not many guys
like you out there with common sense. Keep up the good work!
Michael Gutierrez: I've been running my 97zj jeep for almost a year. (5.2 magnum) and have no
problems other then dirty coolent o flush it once a month and use straight
Edward Crowder: Scotty, I have a 2001 Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 engine. It is currently
flashing the SES light and giving me a P0300 code. After checking the spark
plugs I found this one (
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sgg616ms61ayil2/20141115_151522.jpg?dl=0 ) with
oil on it and none of the others did. Could this be the result of a head
gasket gone bad?
DaFiyaManDrew: My car is blowing white smoke heavily from the exhaust and it doesn't smell
sweet. It strongly smells like gas. I believe it's my head gasket and it
might be causing a misfire. I got OBD code : P0007 (V6 3L)
Radoslaw Jocz: hello sometimes is also useful to check the compression in all cylinders to
check if gasket is ok or not
chevyfan999: Trying to figure out if I have a blown head gasket keep getting different
answers the engine sounds fine and it's not overheating but there's oil
around the oil cap and it's losing coolant but guy says I need a new water
pump that it's not a gasket one guy says it is Idk it is a old car and took
good care of it if this car goes Idk what to do
Tomlin James: or since its a Toyota you should just go head at 100,000 miles and replace
them since that is usually when they fail.
lem9561: Hey scotty when i performed this test on my 1993 nissan 240sx the liquid
turned green. What does that mean?
David Mootoo: Hi, I have a 1998 Plymouth Neon 2.0L DOHC (thank you for your sympathy) and
my diagnostic said "Cylinder 1 misfire" and the car does not smoke in any
way at all. I tried doing the steps in your video, but I was unable to
change the coils because of the way the system is made up. Also, just like
in the video, the 1st spark plug is really bad, but the rest of them are in
relatively good condition. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I live in the
Caribbean and my specimen is a left hand drive bone-stock configuration
originally from Canada (if that helps). Thanks...
