Jake Olson: thanks alot this helped
cooloox: Just a note for those who have the Galaxy S4 - you can actually drag and
drop pictures from one folder to another, directly in the gallery. When you
let go after dropping you are asked if you want to copy or move the images.
Click the option you want and you're done.
Has anyone tried this on the S3 to see if it works? To drag you have to
initially long-press on an image or group of selected images and then you
can start dragging.
Ruth chaffer: Thanks that was very usefull!
Terri Davis: thanks so much!
Janet Kubick: Excellent instructions thank U!! I have a question. My daughter and & I
have a Samsung Exhilarate, the instructions are exactly the same...... I
followed them precisely, making sure all FUTURE pictures We take go
directly to the SD card, I did that and the little SD card symbol is there,
I ALSO moved the pictures I had on the camera to the SD card and a little
folder shows up in the Gallery, just like you showed......BUT, I did 2
'trial' pictures; The little SD card is there when I take the picture, BUT
when the pictures show up in the Gallery, it says Camera below the pictures
and no folder. I've deleted them and practiced a few times. BUT when I go
to those pictures in the Gallery: I tap on them/ then I tap on the menu/
then scroll down and tap on DEATAILS...I scroll down to where it says FILE
LOCATION and it says /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/DCIM/Camera So I'm not
sure if the pictures are going directly to the SD card? Do you think they
are? I hope I have made sense. And thank U again! janet

maria k: Hi there Inam. Thank you for your easy to understand tips explained in a
straightforward and down to Earth way. With my Galaxy S3 Mini, I tried
changing my settings as yo suggested so that photos taken from now on are
saved directly to my SD card instead of on the phone. But to my shock,
"storage" under the little cog symbol is greyed out. Why is this, and can
I "bring it back"? I would really appreciate your help. I have been trying
to transfer the photos off the phone onto my Samsung Chromebook but as I am
having BIG problems doing this, transferring the photos onto the SD card
seems to be the only chance I have of ever getting the photos out of my
phone and sharing them with friends.
BTGRehab Ei: Hi I followed your instructions for an s2 but when I go back to the gallery
only a couple pics appear. It says a total of 1100 pics but some are black
with no photo. How can if fix that?
George Timmons: First, I have a friend, Frank Ghafoor, in Centennial, CO...perhaps you know
him? Next, I have a Galaxy S2, and I went through the procedures for
transferring camera photos to the external SD card. However, when I
finished, I had several items on my gallery page, which include: Camera
(1); Camera (66); Download (36); DCIM (289); and Pictures (2). I don't see
anything that says external SD card, nor do I see the external card symbol
on any of the photos. Also, I changed the saving of photos from the camera
to the memory card. I checked the ext. SD card and it is inserted
properly. Now, when I take a photo, the picture shows up in the "camera"
section, and has the camera symbol on it....not an ext. SD symbol.
Svetka: Thank you!!!! Very Helpful.

rsqwyr: My menu is not the same as the one you are showing. I have no move
option. Only select all, create folder, search, view by, sort by,
settings. What am I doing wrong?
latinadama43: thanks so much....this is very useful information.
Patricia Wrenn: ggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
JuiSee1: this video was very helpful.. Thanks!
I was having storage space problems with my Galaxy S3. Because so much
space was used I couldn't update emails and read them. I would get an error
message stating not enough space. I assumed all of my information was
automatically stored on my 8gb micro sd card. I purchased a 64gb card and
was still having the same problem. Your video helped me move over not only
my photos but music and other files as well. Now I have no storage problem.
Thanks for your detailed video.
By the way what type of camera are you using for the videos? They are very
clear and the sound is great.
kellcin: Very useful, thank you for posting, I had been trying to figure this out.
