Marinó Raven: Just got this pedal (used). It's a great sounding thang, if I use a battery that is.
If the pedal is connected to a power supply (9V) I have a big problem. Turn on the booster and all I hear is this super loud noise/hum sound. This happens regardless of whether the distortion is on or off.
Any ideas ?
SoundWavesSurfer: People r dumb. I make sounds with the MZ, and other boss pedals that many times, sound better then my boutique pedals. Becouse is cheap, they don´t know how to use it, and just talk trash.
Hollis Prince: If you are looking for natural overdrive tones, you absolutely cannot beat a Fulltone Fulldrive Mosfet. One of the all time greatest overdrive pedals ever made. I ordered one from PGS about 3 years ago and it's never left my pedal board. I use it every single time I plug in my guitar. (I use it with an HSS Strat and a DRRI) I also own the GT-500. It doesn't compare to the Fulldrive.
archiguitarchi: I just recently got this pedal in a trade. My stage amp has a great gain channel so I won't be using it with that rig, but I have also used it with both my Duncan 8440 and my reissue Deluxe Reverb, both exceptional clean amps, and this pedal is very good with both. The gain sounds possible are 90% as nice as my stage rig. This makes either of these clean amps good backup rig candidates. F.W.I.W., I've been playing since 1963.
ProGuitarShopDemos: Yes, it is a clean signal driving a tube amp.
kallb3rg: At 5:00, is the volume boost overdriving the amp or is this distortion from the pedal? They did say it offered a "clean boost"...
BOB LEFT: It's like a Crunch Box(my fave dirt box) and a half. Want.
i3oosted: Because they are just parroting what other people have said.
Schizophrenia222: why does everyone hate the boss metal zone?
George Camann: Have you tried this at less than 9V? I want to try <9V but ALSO see that the manual says it should be used at 9-18V and am afraid to break it. Is there a typo in the manual?
Chandler Crane: i bought this pedal today
Miguel Diaz: to me it doesnt sound natural at all! or maybe is just the video? im planning on getting one. would you consider the overdrive section as good as the OCD?
Prabowo Kembuan: From this demo sounds like the pedal has a lot of sag and bass. Can it do tight palm mute sound?
Homesick Hanes: Sucks
ragingstorm33: what amp are you useing and music and playing?
gui7arman12345: The Boss Power Stack is not noticed a lot and when it is, the demos don't review it well. But it sounds amazing for high gain metal sounds. If you ever get a chance to try it yourself, please do and mess with the nobs a lot. It is a great unit. Boss is quite overpriced though for simple pedals I agree with that.
Hannes Bekaert: This is just so nice in every way, price , quality and awesomeness
clintishepherd: This or the Suhr Shiba Drive and Riot?
Heath Watson: "A 65 Soho"
Like all Fulltone stuff everything seems to be totally thought out and tested with no expense spared. My mosfet 2 is amazing and clear.
Bullet proof and badass!
Max Schinkarev: Into what amp this pedal was plugged in?
And what you can say about using it as an preamp for playing "line-in", into PC?
Neil Ryan Banot: I voted for the OCD, OCD wins
harlesslee: Just bought one today, on eBay. Totally psyched!
Kyocera234: I read in the owners manual that increasing and decreasing the input voltage, you can go either way 5v dc to 18v dc. Which also effects the frequency output, have you guys tried this with anything other than the 9v battery? Also should this be before or after other effects in the chain.
I ordered one yesterday thats why I'm curious, all the reviews and vids don't address this additional feature.
Wilbert Kieboom: I have this pedal and I love it. I use it next to the holy grail an Ibanex Tubescreamer when I just need that extra edge. Very versatile box.. :-)
luciano veltri: I just bought it today, sounds amzing!
Lucas Hanrahan: the rv5 is great too!
TheGuitarkid15: My father recommended this pedal to me after telling him that I was thinking about getting clean amp and pedal. The pedal really shines with the OD drive open and I absolutely love it, so many options to setup that I can't resist, must buy.
VictorC53: cept the DD7 and the RE20...ill make an exception for those 2
abokhai29: First off i would like to say Fulltone claims it has 9 F.E.T's not 5. its got 2 MOSFETS. but the real beauty of this pedal is that the Dist side has an inductor driven mid pot. the real tone is all in the mid scoop. If you think the OCD sounds better than the GT your mistaken. I work at Guitar center and I sat this pedal next to the OCD today. You can get the GT to sound EXACTLY like the OCD. Except you can tell the OCD is a little muddier. This pedal in my experience is AMAZING.
kriszpaul: a good, 50W or so amp head cranced! ;)
mguygh: both are equally as good
w00p678: This one seems to be more versatile as far as tone goes.
harryflocyberman: I heard some guy use this pedal live with a riviera amp it sounded good for all kinds and styles of rock he was trying to emulate but being critical as I usually am about tone, it had a artificial processed tone especially when the notes were fading out if you know what I mean, but not super noticeable, I guess for the money it's not bad, computer speakers do not do this pedal justice, it sounds a hell of a lot better live. I need a good distortion pedal any suggestions?
fariborz koh: greetings Sir... is it okay to use any adaptor brand?
mingoos4294: PGS~~, which one has more gain? The vox satchurator or the gt-500? :)
Beth Chilcoat: So this vs. the Jekyll & Hyde - what are people's thoughts?
TheUltraworld: The OCD sounds much better
1954surya: Habe den GT gleich gekauft, Super!
ProGuitarShopDemos: Any video will be compressed but Youtube likes to muck around with the audio even more. Check out the original video on our website. Thanks!
Chris: Unfortunately, the audio on this video is compressed, so you can't really hear the volume difference from the bypass signal when engaging the boost and/or distortion. I have the Gt-500, and the volume difference is HUGE. I have to make the boost section my clean sound and the distortion section my dirty sound in order to make it useable for shows. It sounds good, but I just can't see it being useable as a boost and distortion along with the true amp sound...
Eiliv Sagrusten: Why can`t you just turn the distortion kknob all the way up??!!!
I own and highly recommend the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 MOSFET (a killer sounding and very versitile pedal). You'll love it!
If you need a second pedal for heavier guitar stuff only, I would recommend the MI Audio Crunch Box.
Check out the ProGuitarShop's videos on both these two pedals, which I own and are a permanent part of my pedal board.
ShameofaNation: Depends on what you play?
rayzguitar: the cool thing about this pedal, for me is that I play a Fender which has no Mid on the clean channel. and its nice to have the distortion pedal HAVE a Mid.
this pedal can dial in a nice andy timmons tone, smooth crunch, distortion like on Electric Gypsy, and a high gain smooth overdrive like eric johnson, and anything in between. With the right setting on the booster you can achieve metal tones and scoop the mids for metallica.
jesse roberson: Thats what I ended up with for my 80's hard rock tones, and EVH's brown sound, have yet to hear a pedal get that tone better, specially when in line with his sig MXR pedals.Almost dead on through my amps anyway, and I run everything through my effects loop.
econgblues626: i love mine through my marshall haze!
thelastnic: i will have to check out this pedal, simple but seems to have some depth and versatility.
Jason Goldstein: hey man Im curious on wether you got the tonebone plexitube or not. knowing that this is 6 months late. Why would you have gotten the tone bone instead? im looking at buying a new distortion/ boost pedal
