tlsmoke23: Can't find an open address for dvr tried several. Also can the cat5 be disconnected after set up and still view wirelessly? My dvr an router are far apart.

Alexander George: hi I have already been asigned a static IP address by my internet provider; can I use this load on to me DVR internet settingsand HTTP port 88....can anyone help please

shasashu: ok.. good video. but the external ip is dynamic in nature. i was hoping for a way so that we can view our cams without buying a static ip..

bkpickell: What you did for selecting the IP address is not the right way to do it. If you don't get replies it could mean that the IP address is assigned to another device, but the device is not turned on. The only proper way to do it is to select an IP address that is outside of the scope of DHCP. You have to check that in your router.

Karzan Abdul: very good information Thx you polite man

Agus Prasetyo: Great tutorial. Very clear and step by step. Thx.

Mustafa Hassan: Great video and helpful people deserve a great thanks

Davies Chy: Great stuff

rose0529: I followed every step successfully. I inputted my external IP address with my port number, the viewer displayed showing all my cameras with date and times but each camera didn't show video, each camera displays a black screen. Did miss a step or is there a fix for my issue? Thanks for any guidance you may have to help.

M4Defense: Great job on explaining how to obtain and set up ip info, I spent a lot of time trying to get this info. Got up and running. FYI, D-link router uses a "virtual server" that you can enter dvr info & you don't need to add the second "2000" rule. Thank you very much!

MRWHITE3535: Does it have to be a static ip address?

Akano Ademola: Hello, Do i still need a public address for this or is this an alternative to using a public address
