Jake Buxton: Good video if you're looking to make your car prone to hotwiring / screwdriver auto theft. In the 80's when this ATS was implemented Corvette thefts went down by 90%. Performing the action in this video is clever, but stupid as crap. On another critical note, these are NOT passlock systems. When you say Passlock, you're referring to the GM 10cut passlock systems that have a magnet + transponder system built into the lock itself to prevent hotwiring only. VATS locks use keys called Passkey I and Passkey II depending on whether your lock uses a single or double sided key. These locks are strictly referred to as VATS locks. Try to be a bit more accurate and CAREFUL when presenting your company in these videos bud. Thanks for teaching auto thieves around the world douche.

Nick Exley: I found a wiring Diagram for my vehicle (2006 Chevy Express 3500) I found a yellow wire in the L.Blue connector of the BCM that is the “security system sensor wire” and I also found in the Gray connector of the BCM under B7 a Tan wire that is “Security system sens low ref”. So my question is which of the two security wires get cut? Tan or Yellow?

Lessco Electronics: your key should have the + sign on it, making it a passlock 3 system (which is transponder) this video is only for resistor based passlock 1 and 2 systems.

airhead151v2: we had to change the ecm in our 99 Monte Carlo cause of a lightning strike now it will not turn over we think vats is the problem but we were wondering if you had any other suggestions or if theirs just no hope (gauges,warning lights,lights and the fuel pump activate when we turn the key )

Thomas Room: I recently purcahsed a cluster for my car and the security system will not allow the vecicle to start, one of the messages is disable starter and it has. if i do the by pass will I still have to have the cluster reprogramed?

MrJdub928: hey guys, there only 12 differrent value of resistors it can be, go to the12Volt site get the resistor chart for gm vats, go to radioshack and get one of those small 10 turn potentometers with a value up to 20K ohms. stet the pot to the lowest value on the chart with it installed on the car. try to start it, if it doesnt start, key off set the pot to the next value then back on for 10 mins, do that ntill you find the right one. youll know you have the right one when it starts up!

occotillobrock: ok i have a 2001 chevy 1500 with the 5.3 as a farm truck . My passlock has disabled the motor, so im needing to bypass it. the truck will never leave my property so disabling the security system would not be a problem.. i saw the relay option, but i dont have a relay.. where can i get an inline resistor like you discussed at the end? so i can just put a new resistor in it, let it sit for 30 min, then try and start it. if i could i would have a push button start.

bowbeforethedamned: The only right way to bypass VATS is to either have someone reprogram your ECU to bypass it, or to program it yourself if you have the tools and know how. I know of one programmer that will do it for around $100 bucks. It may not be cheap but it's cheaper than just the ignition switch for the VATS and it's permanent.

Mark Richmond: i find the vats one confusing without wiring diagram can you email me one? way i see it 30 (with resister) is ground and 87 is when remote starting or bypassing not sure why 87a is needed? as it is still going to be resited by 30? or do you mean 30 and 87a have continuity(no resister) and run in between the cut vats wire and when relay energized the resister is on 87 going to car side? see why i need a visual lol

Vincent taman: Do you have a way to bypass a Passlock for a 2002 Saturn Sl2. I'm having a hard time with this car. On your video for the passlock 2 system, on the relay side you mentioned that pin 30 should go to the car side. But on the Saturn that's the pin for the fuel pump. I really need your expertise on this matter.

Lessco Electronics: you can get a used one at a junkyard and spike it like I do as my last resort method and it'll be back on the road in no time. but of course you're situation is a bad one. my vid was for cars with aggravating vats systems, not totally doa ones.

Jamie Galves: I think youre name is Vincent... At least thats what the guys at my remote start shop up here in Anchorage. We use youre techniques as standard practice after watching youre videos. You mentioned in one of youre videos that you can make remote starts that were made for automatics work for manuals. jesus vargas: I didnt understand the relay part. My 99 silverado is acting up. I already did the resistor on the wires. It worked fine for a couple months but its failing again. Does my truck have a relay or do u buy a relay and connect it to the ignition wires? Help please

Addrick Stich: With an 1995 88 oldsmobile how can you bypass the security if you lost your key? me and my dad bought a new Ignition lock cylinder, but all we hear is a clicking noise instead of any turn over. we have a feeling it has something to do with the new key lacking the security resistor, any help?

Shawn Lemons: I have a 1997 Buick Skylark that has been having this problem and I think we found the original problem to have been the ignition cylinder, which we replaced. We thought that the problem was fixed, but the battery needed to be replaced because all the times the key was left on to reset. So we replaced the battery and now nothing lights up on the dash etc. and will not start at all. Is it still possible to find the resistance if the car wont start? Or do I have bigger problems now?

bowbeforethedamned: Bypass modules can fail or become loose and are just plain sloppy in the first place. In most cases they are more expensive than having someone reprogram your ECU. The best part about having someone program the ECU is that it is PERMANENT. Nothing to come loose, nothing to fail, no becoming stranded when it does. It defeats VATS at CORE LEVEL. Bypassing is like fix-a-flat - it's not a real fix and somewhere down the line it will fail.

Ayman Muslim: There is a small red light that starts to blink even if the car is off (over the dash fuse box). I dont know if the previous owner had installed a immobilizer !!?? Could you please help me out!

MrJdub928: yeah this is crazy, cutting the harness and putting in a resistor is the much simpler, far more reliable, and easier way to do that.

Sasquatch Alleged: OK resistors come in different wattage. 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1.0, etc. Which is right one for say '97 DeVille. 3.74ohm key slug. THX

Melissa McDaniel: I have 1997 Pontiac Sunfire, (which is one of the cars you mentioned this would not work on), with an automatic transmission. How do I disarm passlock on this vehicle? Theft light stays on solid all the time, no flashing & will run for approx 3 secs after cycling the key. Great video by the way! Thanks.

heidi81880: thanx for letting me know how to take out the key but this is the problem i have the security system locked the car up cause i put the alarm on and the door was opened with the valet key and after that it doesn't star i have a brand new starter and battery.So do you know how to reset the security system in the 2000 Pontiac grand Prix gt. thanx message me hope to hear from u soon

Lessco Electronics: Chances are you didnt let leave the key on long enough to learn the new resistor value. Slow it down and give the car a chance to relearn the r code

SkeeterMcgeerm: @MrHdradeon I used the final method, the vehicle I did this with made all kinds of funy sounds and changed the clock on the radio rapidly etc for the 30 minutes that I left the key in the on position. I then turned the key to off and tried to start it and it worked just like nothing was ever wrong. Since this fix was implemented I have had no problems what so ever.

Lessco Electronics: Do you have a corvette by any chance? Im thinking thats an RF induction based starter kill system installed by GM aftermarket.
