Jimmie Ashcraft: What if you don't have the original key just the spare key? What do i do now?
wsmaga: I have a 95 Cadillac Fleetwood and need to bypass my vats because this car just wont start. what I am understading is that I only use 1 of the white wires inside of that orange housing coming from the ignition.
Lessco Electronics: only if your theft or security is blinking during crank, that'll always occur while the factory anti theft is acting up.
INGLESIDE FLY: what about a 96 Impala ss... pass key fault........ just wont crank at all. does any of this apply?
DDthegreat87: Doea this work on 97 buick le sabre
Thomas Room: I recently purcahsed a cluster for my car and the security system will not allow the vecicle to start, one of the messages is disable starter and it has. if i do the by pass will I still have to have the cluster reprogramed?
Lessco Electronics: your key should have the + sign on it, making it a passlock 3 system (which is transponder) this video is only for resistor based passlock 1 and 2 systems.
Thomas Bichon: Does this video cover a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville? I am having a terrible time finding things for this blasted car. Most everything I have found only applies up to 1999.
stoneman Cruz: Just wanted to know how to bypass not take a class in electrical...
Cotronixco: Marty, you stated at 8:40 that the pink wire is crank. I believe purple is crank (a few were yellow), and pink is ignition (during crank and during run). Red is high, orange is fan, brown is accy's.
Cotronixco: The relay method puts the vehicle back to normal when the remote starter is not being used.
Cotronixco: Current in milliamps or even microamps. Therefore a 1/8W or 1/4W resistor is plenty big.
Lessco Electronics: you can get a used one at a junkyard and spike it like I do as my last resort method and it'll be back on the road in no time. but of course you're situation is a bad one. my vid was for cars with aggravating vats systems, not totally doa ones.
DrunkProof: what happens when your Theft Deterent Module goes bad?? This is just one part of these systems, although a common failure, it's not truley "bypassing" the system. It's just a bandaid.
10SHEIK10: Hi, Youtube friends, let me share this info with you..
I have 2002 Chevrolet Impala 3.8 II Series.
If the security light stays on ( USA Model ) (Security Passlock Canada Model )
or flashes, wait for 5 to 10 min with the key in ON Posistion,
until the light goes off. (Sometimes it don't but wait anyway)
Then turn the ignation key to OFF Posistion (VERY IMPORTAND !)
before attempting to start the engine again ! ! ! And your car will start !
zachjjjh: would my 07 tahoe have this in it?
Sasquatch Alleged: OK resistors come in different wattage. 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1.0, etc. Which is right one for say '97 DeVille. 3.74ohm key slug. THX
MrJdub928: hey guys, there only 12 differrent value of resistors it can be, go to the12Volt site get the resistor chart for gm vats, go to radioshack and get one of those small 10 turn potentometers with a value up to 20K ohms. stet the pot to the lowest value on the chart with it installed on the car. try to start it, if it doesnt start, key off set the pot to the next value then back on for 10 mins, do that ntill you find the right one. youll know you have the right one when it starts up!
MrJdub928: yeah this is crazy, cutting the harness and putting in a resistor is the much simpler, far more reliable, and easier way to do that.
Dawn Stanton: make sure you cut the wires from the key tumbler and put the resistor on the cars harness side! not the key side!
honeyflash1: This mess is the death of me! I have a '00 Lumina. She's going this a lot now. Its never bothered me before...she'd just start in about 2 min but now its 15+...I'm gonna try this.
occotillobrock: ok i have a 2001 chevy 1500 with the 5.3 as a farm truck
. My passlock has disabled the motor, so im needing to bypass it. the truck will never leave my property so disabling the security system would not be a problem..
i saw the relay option, but i dont have a relay.. where can i get an inline resistor like you discussed at the end? so i can just put a new resistor in it, let it sit for 30 min, then try and start it.
if i could i would have a push button start.
Addrick Stich: With an 1995 88 oldsmobile how can you bypass the security if you lost your key? me and my dad bought a new Ignition lock cylinder, but all we hear is a clicking noise instead of any turn over. we have a feeling it has something to do with the new key lacking the security resistor, any help?
patricknedz: Where is the resister thing on the Saturn Ion key?
patricknedz: Its not just Chevy its other GM cars, my Saturn does that and its the only problem on the car as of now, I like to take a lighter to the key first to warm it up, that seems to help but not completely sure if it will work all the time.
BERTO929: freak Chevy, this piece of crap Colorado won't start again, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY, they know this is a problem and have yet to fix it..
Felipe Murrieta: freak, you smashed my hopes at 1:09, freak my cavalier
William Micaletti: would it work it be the problem with my 97 golf if i put the battery in the car and the alarm went off would it trigger this system?
brenda Fuller: I have a 1996 pontiac bonneville and i lost the key. they are quoting me $180 to re key my ignition. Is there anyway to bypass the vats system and use a regular key/
Vincent taman: Do you have a way to bypass a Passlock for a 2002 Saturn Sl2. I'm having a hard time with this car. On your video for the passlock 2 system, on the relay side you mentioned that pin 30 should go to the car side. But on the Saturn that's the pin for the fuel pump. I really need your expertise on this matter.
robdawg3957: your making this way too complicated, find the resistor that matches your key, cut the orange wire under the dash that has 2 white wires inside, solder your new resistor to the wires that run back toward the car, problem sovled (VATS1) I recently did it myself 89 Seville.
altha2008: my key does not on 03 pon. grand am. it is in the cylinder.
The lights does not blank just stays on.
Ayman Muslim: There is a small red light that starts to blink even if the car is off (over the dash fuse box). I dont know if the previous owner had installed
a immobilizer !!?? Could you please help me out!
Ayman Muslim: guys please save my life. I have been suffering the last days:
I have a mazda protege 2000. The weather has been extremely cold the last 10 days. This morning, when I first put the key, the car was about to start on but it failed. So, I tried again... and the nightmare starts: nothing is happening, no ignition nothing... just the click somewhere in front on the car.
I tried to boost the car but in vain... I checked the fuses, they re just fine...
wsmaga: wow, i am an electrician and this video is humbug, i would rather pay somebody to fix my car. wiring a building or house seems like small time compared to doing this. i have a 95 fleetwood and it always fails to start. i have to keep switching keys until one of them finally works.
SonidoXtreme: How do I figure out which passlock is on my vehicle. 05' Chevy Colorado. I don't have the original key to the vehicle. But my truck won't start on every blue moon, but I do want a quick fix, because it's very annoying.
Lessco Electronics: yeah, those are rf immobilizers, theyre installed at the dealer by aftermarket expeditors, they used to be real popular cause theyre simple and provide an insurance discount
mjr102395: Hey there.. I got a 1999 chevy c/k 1500 it has a plastic security tab i have to wave in front of the dash and it beeps allowing me to start my truck.. I keep it on my key chain.. Have you ever seen these.. And it is a GM accessory.
JoeWayne84: i have a 2001 silverado and it wont run more than a second then shut right back off can i get the ohm reading from the yellow wire with it already locked out with passlock system? thanks
RNation00001: im installing a remote start and security system on a 04 tahoe that has passlock 2, will ur second method of spiking work to disable it permanantly??
also seems like instead of putting it in line wouldnt you want to run it thru the resister and to ground instead of the key switch?
Lessco Electronics: Try my last resort method (spiking the vats system), I think that may be your best option if the car is that far gone.
multicody781: hey i got a 1995 camaro with an LT1 n well it does that n know it wont even start n i did that n cut a slit in the wire that the switch plugs up on that box n the security light came on n i waited n it went off n i did it again n the security light was blinkn n it set there for like 3 hours n the battery went dead so any help is needed its been like this for 3 months n i would like it to run again :)
Lessco Electronics: go to my website at lescosales and search 610t or the au7, either will do fine
Ed Allyn: WHICH RELAY WHERE DO YOU FIND IT
Lessco Electronics: No, a bad ground wouldnt cause your passlock to act up.
coverme54: have a 2002 saturn sc2 that just put rebuilt in and it appears the passlock may be activated. do you think a poor batt grd connection- before i found it- could have activated the pass system
Lessco Electronics: That car has passlock II in it.
Mark Richmond: also different car, which system does an 01 Alero have? and can you email a diag of that one? just want to bypass all together as it acts up weekly thx!
Mark Richmond: i find the vats one confusing without wiring diagram can you email me one? way i see it 30 (with resister) is ground and 87 is when remote starting or bypassing not sure why 87a is needed? as it is still going to be resited by 30? or do you mean 30 and 87a have continuity(no resister) and run in between the cut vats wire and when relay energized the resister is on 87 going to car side? see why i need a visual lol
Lessco Electronics: It could be a fiat ket too, But I do know my s**t though
