Humidintheshade: The Heat gun is the essential tool. Shrinking the tent is the only way to adapt the tint to the curve of the glass and to prevent fingers and bubbles. if you had a desk to put together with Philips head screws you wouldn't just use your fingernail would you? Get a heat gun. I have used a heat gun for many different projects from heating glue for removal to heating plastic trim to bring back its gloss. Right tool for the job.
Kingz Pantheon: just a hairdyer? it work for me when i take off my tint but now i gotta buy new tint since the back rear got a messup tint lmao
tooserious4u79: You need the heat gun to form it to the window. What you do is put the tint on the outside of the window with the adhesive backing still on and alot of soapy water. Then use the heat gun to form it to the window then cut it to fit the window. Then install with alot of soapy water then squegee when in position
tooserious4u79: Or you could do it yourself I'm a diyer and if I can do it myself I can I done lots of tint none have rolled and none have bubbled. The key is the quality film like you said but then someone can still do it them selves. I got my tint done one time by a professional it bubbled badly so I got some goo gone and removed it then installed it myself with my heat gun and an extra sheet off plexiglass I hang my pre cut tints on.
Austin O'Brien: If you really think about it, buying this junk film and crappy "tools" wont save you any money. You are going to mess up and buy more junk film where you can take it to a professional like myself and have it done for a couple hundred bucks and have a nice clean tint job with a quality film that will last a long time. These diy deals are worthless
Jacob Holter: You should have took off your door panel
Clifford Hogue: my dad and i tried putting on tint on my back window in my 1991 grand marquis tonight. it was such a pain in the ass. we couldnt get all the bubbles and crap out. after about 2 hours of messing with it we just gave up and decided to do it another day. We have no heat gun, we tried a hair dryer but it didnt work. Any suggestions??
Jack Lee: 00 camry ?
jakass619: the silver "thing" is called trim
InfinityZane: It will turn purple and may develop bubbles over several years. It just depends on how much intense sun light/heat it is exposed to. The Black Magic tint is just a cheap dyed film. Using a metallic or ceramic film over a dyed film is a much better option. Not bashin or anything, just informing.
sorry beener you have alot to learn. the walmart tint, had it for about 4 years and its not anywhere close to purple. as for your third tip, you can cut tint wherever the freak you want haha
8SiCK0LAKE1: @a1ex1990 i baught those also so is the lower percentage darker or lighter im confused now
imigrant11: Man sorry but this is not a good job!!! You have a lot to learn. Walmart tint is piese of crap, its going to turn purple after 1 hot summer. Second you dont you regural steel knife to cut on windows, its wilp scratch your window, stainless steel only!!! You can get it on ebay for like 5$ " olfa knife". Second hurd card will scratch your window when you sqeegee water out, if you put white paper towel around it will cratch also, you should use blue "shop" paper towel " Third you dont cut bottom
scfunnyehlol: Hey dude I notice that you uploaded this video over a year ago... is the tint still holding up & looking good? Because I want to do this too, but I don't want to waste my time if it's just going to look like crap later on.
Catamountfootball99: what size is that roll?
mifan93: nice video!!!!
how well does the black magic tint hold up?
im going to do my car on the cheep and was gonna use this stuff. do 5 in the back and 35 in the front. maby 20 in the front. idk yet
danicmda: spray the crap out of it ahaha. gonna tint two front windows, this is very usefull. Ill spray the crap out of it too :)
MCSLegacy: Hey cool video! I've windows tinted like 4 times, two on each of my cars. It's never turned out as good as you're doing it. I want to tint the windows on my new car, but it's a really nice car compared to what I've been driving previously and I want to make sure I do it right, but I don't want to pay $250 to have someone else do it. So thanks for the help! You said you live in MN, where abouts if you don't mind me asking.
515tinter: bahaha, walmart tint? for those who are watching, this is why you take it to professionals
scottydosnntkno: glen- walmart tint is not just as good as tint shops use. you will be lucky to get a year out of it before it bubbles and turns purple. plus, it costs almost 3x what a professional quality film does. also, dishwashing soap is not good for the film, because all the degreasers and hand lotions in it harm the adhesive over time. if you must use dish soap, you have to use unscented original joy, the yellow stuff. it doesn't have any degreasers or anything that will harm the film.
