Matt Schnabl: I had talked with a guy at a Murdochs Ranch and home store. He said that if
they run on eco mode low idle a lot that that's bad for them as they have
carbon buildup. I wasn't aware of that when I bought it but I use it to
keep the batteries on my 5th wheel camper charged up and it runs idle for
probably 8 hours a night. Could that possibly be my issue and how do I
clean the spark arrester? Or do I need to buy a new spark arrestor?
TDHReviews: ive worked on a few of these as well theere great machines
TDHReviews: whats the diffrence in one of these inverter generators and a regular ones?
Matt Schnabl: I got it to fire up. But it runs really rough on high idle. Its a little
smoother on eco mode. I had the air filter cover off and when I put it back
on it started running even rougher.
JEREMY FOUNTAIN: THE CONNECTOR THAT ATTACHES THE MAIN HARNESS IS CORRODED.....REMOVE AND
CLEAN ALL THE TERMINAL PINS.
JEREMY FOUNTAIN: CHECK FOR SPARK
Matt Schnabl: I have been using my Honda eu3000 all summer off and on. Last night it died
and I just assumed it ran outta gas. I got home from work and its full of
gas/oil. Oil is clean does not smell like gas. It turns over just fine but
it just wont fire. Any thoughts?
JEREMY FOUNTAIN: ONLY WAY TO DIAGNOSE IS TO RUN THE MACHINE WITH AN AMP METER INSTALLED AND
SEE HOW MUCH JUICE YOUR PUMPING THROUGH HER........3000WATTS WILL RUN 2
HAIR DRYERS AND THATS ABOUT MAX IF THAT GIVES YOU AN IDEA
Mary Scott: My EU3000 honda gen. won't keep the battery charged.I put a new battery in
it & it started up with the key.The next day I tried to run it & it sounded
like the battery was almost dead,so I started it up with the pull cord & it
runs fine.Is there an alternator inside that could be bad? And if there
is,where is it.
JEREMY FOUNTAIN: SOUNDS LIKE THE SPARK ARRESTER IS CLOGGED UP OR YOU HAVE A CARBURETROR
ISSUES......THERE ARE SO MANY VARIABLES THAT COULD MAKE THE ENGINE RUN
BAD......FIRST AND FORMOST THING I WOULD DO IS A LEAK DOWN TEST ON THE
ENGINE TO TEST ITS MECHANICAL INTEGRITY THEN GO FROM THERE
aw172: a regular generator produces an AC current directly which can cause
voltages to spike or sink based on engine rpm's, while an inverter
generator produces DC current, which is then inverted to AC giving you the
perfect voltage and power needed, so if you are using sensitive equipment
ie laptop, you should use an inverter.
mkmason2002: How do you prevent the gas from clogging? Great video man.
John Legaspi: The circuit breaker on Honda eu3000i keeps tripping out. Dealer suggest a
main panel replacement, but a small shop tech suggest replacing circuit
breakers due to worn out breaker after 10 trips or more. What's your take
on trouble shooting this problem?
