GUNMASTER: is there any part of the motor that dont can be washed? the electric or
something at the motor?? the spark or anything else?
Curtis Smith: Just wondering if you still have this mower, if so would you share some
pictures or video of the mower deck I am having adjustment problems with
mine. The front seems to sag more than I believe it should. 38" 12hp model
number 917.254520 (ayp) craftsman 2 thanks in advance.
Stephen Festus: I highly recommend on the flat head Briggs lawn tractor engines to install
a fuel line shut off. The fuel float valve in the carb tends to stick open,
and will cause fuel to leak into the crank case through the oil breather
which can ruin the engine. Also I use the fuel shut off to let the engine
run dry before storage which helps to reduce the problem of E 85 ethanol
fuel sitting in the carb. Good videos Donyboy73. Keep up the good work.
The Cornish Dairy Boys: after filling up the oil before checking the level u should have run it so
it pumps it around the system
Richard Boone: Sears don't make silver Craftsman II anymore
Richard Boone: Craftsman is built by Sears Company. Other brand I like lot more is John
Deere Nothing Runs Like A Deere. I think Craftsman is assembled in US not
made in US. Home Depot Lowe's and Sears doesn't sell very much made in US
bobby59696: how to change the drive belt on a mower like this one
john beardsley: hey, just did your tuneup on my 21 year old 12 1/2 hp briggs and it has
never run so well. thank you, john
Dru Brandon: I'm twelve and I need my mower fixed it shuts of when you ingadge the deck

Dru Brandon: It's an old craftsmen horse 44" deck
donyboy73: i think the ones in the video come from blackmambagloves do c
sleepybird09: I like the red trim on that seat.
Westley Bates: its making a knocking sound....not good ...derp
emmielie: Tank you for this great Howto
Xxdirt2snowxX: what year? I have the same one I just need the year
TOXIKFILMS: hm... my lawn mower has a 15hp briggs & stratton engine but it looks just
about the same
SvenStadt: On these models, the muffler is blocked by the hood that comes down (the
grey part on top). My Craftsman used to overheat then start smoking when
cutting the grass. My dad had to take a blow torch and cut a hole into the
hood (which removes it is held in place by two bolts to the chasis) right
in front of where the muffler is. if you dont the heat will back up into
the muffler which is the hottest part of the engine! Bad design probably.
William Jones: how would you take off the motor of old craftsman
J Moore: WELL DONE AND THOROUGH! I got a couple old ones - 11 hp and 12 hp 20 and
10$ may even get em runniig but no deck as of yet- had to move statrter up
so it would engage thanks for the thoughtfull video - well done!
donyboy73: a carb kit from briggs for your specific carb, you may want to try and just
clean the carb first
donyboy73: might be, not sure
Texassince1836: yes, but thats a little thick. i have run 50 weight in a briggs opposed
twin that had well over 1500 hours then set up for 9 years. it got 15w30 at
the next oilchange.
Norfolk Southern Lehigh Valley Railfan: What up awesome video you have a healthy tractor there I have a 2004
YTH21HP Husqvarna runs great I did the oil change 5 or 4 mounts ago and it
runs great but for some reason none of my sockets of my dad's fits the
spark plug it goes on it and stops cause it's not long enough to fit on it
100% do you any trick how to do that job cause the spark plug been in my
lawn tractor since my dad bought it and I do the most maintenance on the
tractor well anyway oil man out thanks
donyboy73: @Denkha94 i have never used it in small engines
donyboy73: it's probably to buy a carb kit, the needle valve and seat often need to be
replaced. your carb will probably need to be thoroughly cleaned too
jeremy lee: here in the states its cheaper than that kind of oil you used in this
domantor11: Its it very loud like very for an engine
donyboy73: it shouldn't hurt it
donyboy73: would be a good idea as there might be a bit of water in it
joey13722: Good jod
Denkha94: @donyboy73 Hi their, do you think if I add a little bit, it will harm it or
won't circulate properly? Thank you.
Tim Tereshchuk: turn on captions.... roflmao
donyboy73: nothing wrong with briggs oil, just costs more money
donyboy73: no oil filter
Brian Davies: A tune up involves setting the governor, how about showing how that's done?
Anthony Browning: Should one oik treat the prefilter? Or is that for the mowers without paper
Tristan102100: i have a couple flathead engines that occasionally get jammed up and don't
want to start. could this be the problem?they are briggs 12.5HP and Kholer
donyboy73: @ct9908 just leans to the front and stays there
5153john: hey man you should have sharpen the blades
donyboy73: could be the intake valve or u need to replace the needle and seat in the
carb, also make sure the carb isn't set too rich
tim tomlinson: Have u hade any problems with the steering gear ?
CraftinmineralMc: Dony I have a question I have a 1986 Lt11 the motor runs great but the
transaxle make a terrible noise when ever you start moving, the transaxle
still works fine but even when I have it in neutral and I let off the
clutch the noise is made. If you have any idea what this might be, any help
is appreciated, thanks.
stigner123: I have the same tractor that I need to do some work to the transaxle as
reverse stopped working. Will repairing the transaxle be a job a beginner
mechanic can do or am I better off finding a used one somewhere and do the
Tristan102100: and before i out the drain plug back on,i usually give it a couple splaches
with new oil to help "rince" the oil pan out.
donyboy73: yes, quaker state, castrol
donyboy73: good tip! thanks
donyboy73: thanks for watching
