curlywavydiane: thank you! i love the curly girl method now..i didn't do it when i recorded this but have started it since and it changed my hair! i also did an updated styling my hair video you might want to check out- i think it's even better way to apply
curlywavydiane: umm i don't remember..i rotate my shampoos and conditioners constantly..but now i use only sulfate and silicone free stuff. at the time of this recording i was still using silicones
curlywavydiane: thank you!
abbey crum: I'm so excited to try this! You're the first person I've seen with hair just like mine (although yours is much thicker) and nothing I have tried looks good. Everyone swears by the curly girl method, but it does nothing for me! Thank you for this video!
kimalimon: Your hair is so pretty btw
kimalimon: What shampoo and conditioner did you use?
curlywavydiane: i don't think i do...thanks for the sweet compliment! you have a great day too =D
Alaina -Jay: do u have an accent or is that just me?:) ur very pretty btw have an awesome day!!! :D
pedrohill22: I just tried this this morning and my hair actually looks good. I skipped the oil, but I used some tresseme curl lotion stuff and garnier spray in curl gel. Then I used a generic of biosilk. I have a microfiber towel so I used that. And it really worked. Though the spray gel is kind of a PITA, and I think I put a little too much in spots so I'll have to figure out how to do it better next time.
curlywavydiane: happy to help =)
pedrohill22: Thank you! I used to have stick straight hair, and then I got pregnant (hes 2 now) and now my hair is crazy wavy and I have no clue how to care for it. This helps a lot.
curlywavydiane: you can use this method with any products =) good luck!
slvrangel22: Would you mind listing the products you use? I purchased the towel. I'm interested in trying this approach.
curlywavydiane: you can totally bring your hair back to good health..i straightened and relaxed it for YEARS..i have a video or 2 with tips and suggestions for bringing curls back to health from straightening- it might be beneficial for you if you haven't seen already..thanks for the compliment and i'm glad to be of help! haha i just keep it real and act like me, so happy you are entertained! hehe =)
curlywavydiane: thanks for subbing =) its all about trior and error and finding what products and routine works for you..and patience. there's def patience involved haha...good luck!
kat torgerson: Thank you for your videos. I regret the abuse I give to my naturally wavy/curly hair with blowdrying, coloring, straightening, etc. I am determined to bring health back to it and embrace my waves. Your tips and videos have been very helpful!!! And I must say that your videos are much more entertaining than some of the others I've seen! So, thank you so much!!
sarababe74: I just came upon your channel and subbed. I am trying to actually work with my natural wave for the first time ever. I'm clueless! I have wavy hair with some more curly parts and some more straight parts - it's frustrating to make it look good. Normally I shower at night but stopped because I was afraid it wouldn't look good sleeping on it and trying to fix it in the morning. ANWAY, I'm just trying to get it all figured out so i'm glad I found your channel :) Sorry for rambling, lol!
curlywavydiane: good god why don't you do what works for you and i'll do what works for me?!? all my product is not on the towel so keep calm and why write unnecessary rude comments?
misstessyt: good god! just gel it and walk. all your product is on the towel anyways.
curlywavydiane: LOL i totally dont see it but i think shes really pretty..so thanks!!
Nina Breton: You kinda look like avril lavigne
curlywavydiane: thanks for watching! =)
Lynsey Haddow: Great video - I usually scrunch my product in, but I'm definitely going to give the rake and shake method a try. I've just ordered the Deva volumising curl foam product (can't remember its exact name!), so might give this a go when that arrives on my doorstep.
curlywavydiane: sorry girl, my hair and head are not oily at all and have no clue how to handle it =/ brushing any kind of curls or waves will make the hair frizzy and worse. you should never brush it. only use a wide tooth comb with conditioner when in shower.
animallvr87: Hey Diane! My hair is like yours curl and thick wise. The only difference is my hair is oily and I pretty much have to wash it everyday : (. It makes my hair frizzy and big and because I don't like the waves/curl I do have I try to brush it out and it ends up looking worse. Any tips for an oily headed person?
maheen A: lol did i mention your accent is so cute
curlywavydiane: thats all i do
popmusic227: Can you make a hairstle video for curly hair because all I do is wash my hair and leave it loose
curlywavydiane: good luck!! =) i think my hair personally looks better air dried. lol diffusing it makes frizz for me
snoogans816: Great video! My waves look like yours when wet, but I cannot get my hair to dry like yours if I don't use a diffuser. ::hairenvy:: I'll have to try your version of the rake and shake method when I wash my hair next. (Will be tonight, now, lol.) Cross your fingers for me!!
curlywavydiane: sorry i dont really do drugstore stuff. good luck at university! check out the channel for waterlily716 shes CG and does a lot i think
maheen A: sprry for asking so many questions but do you know of any good curly drugstore products because i'm a teenager (going off to university next year so gotta save my money. lol). and since i live in canada sadly there isn't any shea moisture..
curlywavydiane: i dont like using products that make me hair crunchy
Kimberly Tafoya: How do you get the crunch out of your hair. I hate the wet and wild look...
curlywavydiane: thanks for watching!! thats the only way i can style my hair and get it to look decent lol <3
LaurenDayMakeup: Great video! I love that rake & shake method! The curl towel is a great idea too. Very awesome!! Thanks for sharing with us.
curlywavydiane: try a deep treatment with heat for 20 minutes every other week. that helps me a lot. my faves are ouidad 12 minute deep treatment, CURLS ecstasy tea conditioner and jessicurl deep treatment. good luck!
maheen A: no matter how much conditioner and gel i use my hair is still frizzy. is there anything i can do?
curlywavydiane: it makes a huge difference. regular towels make my hair so frizzy!
dirtyyDiana707: Hi Diane, I just wanted to ask if that curl towel that u used makes a difference compared if u don't do it. Its my first time seeing it. So its supposed to take excess moister cause it would make it frizzy otherwise??....I appreciate the info girl. Thanx :)
curlywavydiane: oh i'm a product junkie. i switch out my shampoo & conditioner constantly
curlywavydiane: its not tugging, it's raking- like combing. i'm not really pulling on the hair hard
mustafa: also what shampoo and conditioner do u use? thanks
mustafa: i use a wide tooth pick to go through my hair, so you only use ur fingers?
mustafa: oh wow first time seeing rake and shake method. i would have never thought thst tugging the hair like that would let it curl back up. hope it works on my hair too :-) thanks!
curlywavydiane: awww cool!! =)
shibbydoo322: We have very similar hair!
curlywavydiane: aawww glad the curls came back! hmm the tangle thing is true i'm sure, but i guess we can't have it allll so i'd still take it! hehehe =)
monipearl: i'm not gonna lie, i almost cried after i washed my hair the first time after the treatment (global keratin hair taming). zero curls. but co-washing today with the deva one conditioner brought the curls back. just looser and really silky feeling.
tighter curls= more tangles. just saying. :)
