klipser18: hi i just replaced my ford explorer actuator but the problem is still there the door won't open w the key neither w the remote nor with the buttons but the actuator is new do you have any suggestions ??
Desiree Broadnax: Hello. I broke the door handle to my sport trac and i am replacing the handles, with your videos seems as a simple fix but now that I have replaced them the door still does not open. Could it be another issue?
Dennis Harsell: Great video it did help. On my 97 Explorer Limited I did not have to remove the door latch or the window track. Actuator very accessible. Thank You !
Maria Genitempo: Thank you so much for this. I was able to replace my inside door handle and my actuator from your videos.
Rick James: Yeah try replacing this crap on a 2001 Ford Expedition driver's side passenger door. There is like no room to do anything. The rod for the actuator is bent in a hook in such a way it is almost impossible to get out. I bought my vehicle just the other day. Apparently the pop rivet had broken off and the actuator was just jumping around inside the door causing the casing to break. I had to take the latch away from the door. The motor housing just pulled away from the rod. I use to have a 98 Grand Marquis and I had a door left over that I took the actuator from it. Even that was a pain in the ass. The rod for the Expedition was shorter. So I separated the casing on the new actuator and slid the old rod down inside it. It had a rail on it. Then I sealed the case back up. I just took the rod and bent it at a 90 degree angle and slid it back in.. Finally got everything back together. Took a couple hours to do in humid conditions in the South with mosquitoes did not make it easy. I do not see how anyone can replace these. I do not see any vids anywhere for the rear doors. They have much smaller openings. Now I have used 1A Auto's vids before on the Marquis and they were great.
Dawn Burton: Thank you so much for this video and your door panel removal video. Helped me so much! I am grateful :).
Jason Swartz: great video heads up did not need to take the 3 screws out of the locking mechanism to remove the solenoid
Reginald Burrell: The driver's door on my 98 Explorer won't lock at all automatically or manually with the key. Is it because of the Actuator?
AlienAmerican: How does one know if it is the actuator, or the door handle that needs to be replaced? I have a floppy door handle right now. The door will not lock from either the key fob or the inside lock/unlock button. I watched your other video concerning the door handle, but now I'm not sure if I need that or the actuator.
Terry W: Is there a video on how to remove the door panel when the door will not open because the lock will not unlock? Frankly, whoever decided to add automatic door locking when the vehicle moves should be shot. Got the lock unlocked (1998 Mercury Mountaineer) but when I drove the vehicle it relocked and now will not unlock at all. Thanks Ford/Mercury, really ridiculous.
SnippitySniper556: any tips for the clips in the control panels? my fingers are killing me. also for the clip attached to the window track. for some reason I cant get that off.
Rad Macks: Expedition lol. Just bugging. Thanks for taking the time to post this, liked and shared!
CAMDENFUNK: Ok for the record I have already replaced the actuator from my 2001 ford explorer sport that I'm going to ask u about.. notice today my door lock doesn't unlocked also noticed a dangling nose then I saw the screw that replaced the rivet on the door was missing witch can explain something dangling, but what's dangling?can that be why it doesn't unlocked? plz help
Pritpal Singh: I can't open crown Victoria 2000 driver side door from outside but inside is ok
victor portocarrero: Please can you help me....My 98 acura tl 2.5 is immobilized for the factory alarm system...what can I do to disable it or bypass...Help please...!!
Alex Guest: I have a 1998 ford explorer. Driver side door lock was not working I replaced the actuator.... still not working. Any ideas? thanks!
ryno2madness1976: I have a 2005 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer. Both the driver and passenger door lock switches, and also the FOB intermittently will not lock/unlock. If the FOB unlocks, the switches work......adversely, if the FOB doesn't work, the switches don't work either. Could this be an actuator problem, or something else? Also, sometimes when the FOB won't work to unlock, the lights on the mirrors and the interior will light like it is unlocking, but they don't actually unlock. Any suggestions?
Jerod Strong: My driver side door unlock does not work and my passenger side lock does not work. I bought 2 new lock and unlock switches and replaced the old but it doesn't fix the problem. It's a 98 ford explorer xlt. What should I check next?
Hilde: Do I need to unhook the ground cable to my battery first?
