Fist Fury: I have a 2000 eddie bauer explorer. The drivers door wont lock all others
do by remote or manually. I can hear the drivers lock clicking but it will
not lock. What can be the problem. Thanks
Omar Pedraza: My door ajar light is on come to find out my passenger back door got a bad
door jamb sensor because it isnt making a peep when choosing and opening
like the other doors how in the world do i change that in that little space
i got to work with.
AndyWhip0312: I have a 2001 ford explorer sport and I think the actuator just went. I use
the keyless entry and I don't hear the locking mechanism on the driver side
door like I do on the passenger side. Its pretty loud so not hearing it go
off and unlock the door isn't normal. Do you think this is the actuator? If
so, will it be similar enough to fix as in this video?
TheDaltonboii: What would cause my explorer to idle at about 600 and when the heat is on
it drops to 500 sounds like it is about to die then kicks back up and
repeats the process?
Sammy Nazario: Great Instructions!! Thank U guys for taking time and offering assistance
to those on on internet to make do easy fixes on car problems. U guys are
James Troutman: I have a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. My drive side passenger door won't open.
It's like the lock is stuck. And the problem is, actually Getting the door
open to replace the lock actuator. Any tips??
FlappingTerror: I`m not sure if this is the part I need to replace or what, but my door
won`t latch closed. I think the spring for the latch itself went out. I own
a 2007 Ford Taurus SEL. It has been terribly cold where I live -25 wind
chills. And I do not have a garage, nor do I know anyone who does so I`m a
bit stuck. Any ideas?
Nick VanTassel: 1998 ford windstar drivers door wont shut. The door just kind of hangs
there, I looked at the latch and it seems to be jammed, not sure how to fix
TheBryansong65: my inside door handle broke after I installed the new actuator and I cant
open the door at all..i tried to pull the rod but its not opening the door
1A Auto Parts: @cotaman7 Yes it'll make a noise. If the actuator looks like it's trying to
pop the locks open but doesn't, then you may need a new door lock actuator.
We carry them for most vehicles on our website 1aauto.com.
bgr547: i have a problem. the door locks and unlocks using the buttons in the car.
but most of the time i try to use the key, or the keypad on the outside of
the car, the driverside door half-way unlocks. the door wont open, and the
interior buttons won't unlock it then either. i have to go to another door
and open the door by the handle from the inside
derek7887: I just bought a replacement actuator. There are multiple copper/gold hooks
that came with it. Am I just supposed to use the one like you used with
both O rings and all the other ones are useless?
ryan kelly: Installed the new actuator and snapped off the safety light fixture that
connects to the hinge, not a big deal, nice being able to work on the car
with the front door opened, not worrying about the battery, after
installing the actuator, it didnt work, after two days of removing and
reinstalling, I unscrewed the lock piece that screws to the rode lock, once
that was off it worked, when i put it back on it didnt, i cut the piece in
half, the lock pin screwed up higher and did not jam,
Erin Smith: I'm not sure what is wrong with my door because in a sense, it "half
locks." I have a 97 ford explorer xlt & the door will not open whatsoever.
I have the panel off even though it is shut, and I've tried pulling the
"bar" that opens/unlatches the door from the locking mechanism and it still
continues to stay shut. What would you recommend to do to get it open?
Ellis Abram: My problem is the door locks won't go up or down with my remote and the
driver's side doesn't turn with the key. The locks unlock from the inside,
but I have to get into my Explorer Sport by unlocking the passenger side
with the key and opening the driver's side from inside.
Steven Lane: Mine is doing this same thing too on my 1998.
Tony Desercey: Could I use this if my sports trac's driver door lock and window controls
work on every door except the drivers'? Does that sound like an actuator

Bruce Campbell: I couldn't really hear the audio during the part of the video where you
were replacing the rivet you had drilled out with a bolt, but did the
replacement actuator come with that replacement bolt or did you have to buy
Steve Claussen: if my door makes the sound like its locking and unlocking but it doesn't
unlock the driver door nor the passenger door but unlocks the gate in back,
would that mean the actuators are bad on the doors.??
1A Auto Parts: You should match up the one that best fits your application. 1aauto.com
Steve Cottone: These videos are why I will purchase my parts through you. Please continue
to do these videos and save us from the stealerships. Great work guys! We
really appreciate you.
1A Auto Parts: You may want to see if there's power going to the door lock actuator, also
check the fuses to see if there's a blown fuse.
T3Walker: I own a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, My driver door will not unlock with
remote unlock, nor the unlock button. I have to climb through and pull the
inside handle to unlock the door, when i attempt to use the button, or key
fob, the plunger just bobbles up and down. Is this what I need to replace?
1A Auto Parts: @strickmans Usually they will just stop popping up when you try to unlock
the door. Typically when they go bad you can hear them trying to pop up,
but nothing happens.
ibemobbinlkeee: thank u! now i know whats wrong with my truck!!!
1A Auto Parts: The latch may be stuck, or there could be a latching rod that may have
become disconnected inside of the door, that would cause it not to open.
You may have to try to remove the door panel with the door closed, so that
you can reach inside the door and pop it open by hand. Hope this helps you
out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3383
Oh Yeah: Thanks!
1A Auto Parts: Usually, when they do this and the actuators try to pop but don't, they
have gone bad.
Joseph Hagood: This is all good and well. but i didn't see it work with the remote door
lock...my switch makes no noise when i try to lock/un lock the door
Manually or with the remote ???
bgwillz668: can you make same vid but for 96 suburban please vids are big help ive
replaced my grille, headlights, taillights using ur vids mahalo from the 808
Billbent3: Outstanding video . including the still pix and narrative. You made it so
easy,. Thanks bunches. Bill
Mike Giammarino: Thank you for your video's, they helped me with a power window issue on my
98 Explorer Sport...Another issue I am having is the power locks won't
work. The fuse is good, the driver side or passenger switch will not work.
I don't have a fob to try.
1A Auto Parts: It could be a door lock actuator getting weak. Try to lock it using the key
and see if it locks. We carry new door lock actuators on our website
David Harris: I am having a problem with my explorer, both actuators are good, but the
rivet on the passenger side is rotted out. What size bolt is this?
agonz91: So I hope someone can give some what of an answer... but I have a 98 ford
explorer and I'm not sure if my passenger door actuator needs to be
replaced or what? anyways.. My door won't open for anything! Not the remote
lock, key, unlock button on the door panel, and I can't even pull up the
lock from inside. idk how I'm going to even open my door... I'm assuming a
slim jim will work, but I want know what is wrong with my door and how am I
going to even open it? any advice would be helpful!
1A Auto Parts: The issue could be with the switch itself. Those vehicles are known for
having poor switches on them.
alosgm1: Hello :) When I use the driver door to lock my doors, it appears to work
fine (all four doors close) but some seconds after, they all open again xD
If I try to close again, only the driver door gets closed. The same occurs
with the passenger door. Sometimes it work normally for some weeks and
suddenly starts failing again. Could it be the actuator? Thanks!
RonBronson: I am replacing a worn Door Latch Assembly... so I will need to remove the
actuator, too, as shown in the video?
1A Auto Parts: You may want to check the wire harness between the door and body of the car
for a broken or frayed wire. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com
Joseph Hagood: Thank you.......................
UFOGHOSTHUNTER: I had the same problem with my truck and I got in the panel and found out
my rod that goes to my lock cylinder was unhooked and causing it to not
lock all the way down. Make sure everything is in its place and check the
rivet on the actuator to see if its still holding strong.
1A Auto Parts: There's not really a specific bolt size to use. basically any bolt that
will fit can be used to make the repair. Have a great day. 1aauto.com
1A Auto Parts: It may be a bad door lock actuator. You may want to test the power to it
with a test light to see if it has power going to it.
EmperorJinx151: I am glad people like yourself do these. it is very helpful. The only
advice I would give is do a voice over for all of the audio to equalize the
sound. I had it playing on my TV & my wife got mad at me because the sound
would jump up so high all of a sudden while she was watching the voice her
fav show. Thanks for making this thought.
sdmcnly: Thank you very much for this video! I'm not the most mechanically inclined
person, but I managed to get this done with your help. Thanks again!
1A Auto Parts: You're welcome. Have a great day. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
1A Auto Parts: The door lock actuator could be getting tired. We carry new ones on our
website with free shipping in the lower 48 states. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
1A Auto Parts: That's correct. You may also want to take the door panel off to see if
there's a bend rod in there that could be causing the lock to only come up
