Jason Geminiani: i replaced the 5.2 with a 5.9 torque converter just to be on the safe side
but it will work with a 5.2 but might cause a vibration

moparheart: of course itll work a 5.9 360 is just a bored out 5.2 318 the only problems
are fuel pressure which can be solve with a 360 psi regulator on the
sending unit and the wieght on the torque converter has to be taken off

Jason Geminiani: yes i know from the the reserch i did before i did this but the only thing
i had truoble with is how do u know where to put the weight on the torque
converter because the fly wheel lines up in 4 diferent ways. the fly wheel
and balancers are defently different then the 5.2 other than that she runs
alot better then the old 5.2
TOXIXIFY: How did you port the throttle body? Is there any way to do it without a
Ben Benjamin: One thing you might want to know about the small block mopars ... the 5.9
is externally balanced and the 5.2 is internally balanced. The harmonic
balancer on the 5.9 is part of the balancing, but you will need the
weighted torque converter or flexplate to maintain proper balancing. FYI

engines, the 360 doesnt have that much more power and you get the power
from a 318, but nice work, looks nice
95ram1500: nice work but first The jet chip is absolute garbage. b&g flash or mopar
pcm. And second my 318 is at a 7.5sec 0-60 and getting better with each new
mod. I wouldve re done that 318. almost no huge power difference. just
where the powers at. 318 has a lot of torque and can take a hell of a lot
more abuse. all around though very clean swap and nice work.

have the 5.2 and im sick of it. Want some more power to beat my roommate's

fathergratwick: 360 does outperform the 318..the 318 is like the chevy 327 with a cult
following of it own... 318 had a slightly higher compression ratio to try
and keep up the 360 gets better mpg for the added cubic inches...there is
no replacement for displacement... the jet chip doesnt do much after 200
miles when the pcm relearns and corrects the setting to override all of its
funbunch052293: hey buddy i have a 01 ram 5.2 and wanting to drop the 5.9 in there. did the
5.9l fit right in or did you have to mess with your cross members or any
yegarboy: You shouldnt have any problems at all. The only real differance between the
two motors is the bore. The heads are close in specs as well. You should
notice a 20 percent increase in torqe and hp. Looks nice as hell too. Good
