W. Gator: Don, I have 2 carbs that came off 2 MTD 10 hp. snow blowers that caught on
fire and were put out before the engines were destroyed, but the plastic
floats are partly melted. Question (1) I know it is difficult to tell
without seeing the machines, but is it possible to rebuild carbs in this
condition or would there be more damage inside that the eye can't see.
#(2) what would cause engines to catch on fire, I have NEVER had it happen
Eugene Taglialavore: I REBUILT MY TECOMSEH CARBEROTER, THERE WAS NO FLOAT NEEDLE SEAT IN IT. MY
SNOW BLOWER HAS BEEN WORKING FOR YEARS AND THE ONLY REASON I,M REBUILDING
IT IS BECAUSE THE ROD BROKE AND I,M, GOING THROUGH THE ENGINE AN THAT'S
WHEN I NOTICED NO SEAT WAS IN THE NEEDLE FLOAT SECTION
I TRIED TO INSERT IT AND IT CAUSED THE FLOAT NOT TO BE RIGHT.
AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK?
43128lucky4: hey don, ive got a question, will a 6.5 hp honda clone fit on a toro 824?
Cleberbetel Oliveira: Today I'm riding a Tecumseh carburetor finish tomorrow but RJ19LM candles
and the AR35066 filter not found here in my town.
His videos helped me in the assembly.
Pedro Bosques: I totally appreciate your time in putting this video together, it help me
to get my snowblower to work. I needed to work as soon as possible, snow
storm on the way and I couldn't wait for the repairs.
migpics11: Hi there. I rebuilt my carb and snowblower runs but it only runs when the
choke is half open. Dies when I apply a load.
Any help is appreciated.
Tommy Singer: I rebuilt the carb and put it back together and now I have fuel leaking. I
checked the float and it hangs down, which is causing the fuel to
constantly run. When I push it up, it stops. How can you adjust this?
tony Kari: You are the best danboy. Thanks a lot
donyboy73: @Artlay1 you have to remove the shrouud that holds the recoil to do it
donyboy73: @supersluggo0 you're welcome and thanks for watching
nekbiodieselworks: I really dont like Tecumseh's
j k: I agree but why wont it sart with started fluid ? would'nt it at least run
with that .. again my fear is I buy a carb when it really an engine problem
bluclipse90: my tecumseh carburetor is leaking through a little hole, i was wondering if
you can help me, and if you have any idea why?
donyboy73: probably could
digitalPimple: I have a H35 I picked up. It was sitting outside for awhile. After your
videos the engine ran mint (points needed cleaning). Then it started
loosing power after an hour and the carb would spit and back fire.
Adjustments did not do much. I re cleaned the carb but not much help. I
pulled the new spark and it was covered with black. Any suggestions? After
I cleaned the plug it won't even start now. I was starting with 1-2 pulls.
donyboy73: you're welcome
donyboy73: @Matthew55904 any small engine shop or sears
wheely132: Runs beautiful.
Ray McKegney: Wasn't the float. As it turns out it was the tiny vent hole near the primer
hole had been plugged. Didn't even know it was there, so small. If the carb
can't vent as gas enters the bowl, the float can't lift to raise the pin to
close off the incoming gas. The gas overflows out from the air intake
opening. Took a bread bag twist tie, removed the paper, took the wire and
poked it into that tiny hole. The carb no longer leaks gas. The hole may
have gotten plugged when wiping down the housing.
donyboy73: you might need a new carb kit
donyboy73: @rdoggvf722 did u replace the float?
donyboy73: then the seat needs to go in further
donyboy73: @jenstagner the snow can clogg it and there is no dust in winter
GmGarlo: i left out that the toro is my snowblower.
rdoggvf722: Clogged atmospheric vent, tiny hole on outside body of carb, fixed the
leaky carb on my snowthrower and my neighbors
Garrett Jdbe: @donyboy73 Thanks you very much i need to order some
Dicofole: What would be max RPM for such an engine? Can you show how you adjust RPM?
donyboy73: try pushing the seat in further, if it's in all the way then set the tab on
donyboy73: go to a local small engine shop
Paul Smith Jr.: Ii have to rebuild the same carb on a generator and will get to it in the
first thing Wed morning and your video will make it veryvery easy.
Artlay1: Your videos are very very good . I was able to fix my 5hp snowblower with
Tecumseh engine. I was going to go for the expense of a new one but thanks
to your instructions, is running again. I was not able to view the video
well as I'm not on a real high speed. How do I change change the primer
bulb and tubing, does the cover have to be unbolted? don't have a torque
wrench to reset them. Any help would be appreciate, Thanks again
josh sciaraffa: hey I have the same exact carb and engine but mine wont run.. I cleaned the
carb it starts but wont stay.... the gas isn't flowing into the engine what
should I do
Mrtocoolforyou12: will rtv sealant be good for making a gasket for the carb o ring?
1972FordF150: Great video man !
darinhwerner: Ok i'll have a look. It is a fixed jet carb. Not sure what to adjust other
than the idle. There is a real good chance i screwed up twice and just dont
know it yet.
donyboy73: if the plug is wet then it could likely be weak spark, if it's dry then
it's a fuel issue
John Mauro: Thanks Donny, by reviewing several of your carb rebuild, cleaning and
adjustment videos I was able to get my snow blower carb up and running,
thanks so much. Big key was to clean it well, all the little holes.
Ray McKegney: I've got the Toro 5/24 and it's been leaking gas, dripping slowly off the
nut on the bottom of the carb. Got a repair kit and replaced the cover and
bottom nut seals. Still get gas dripping. As it turns out its not from
either seal but from the opening on the carb behind the 2 screws on the
side of the cover. Maybe this is the air intake? Not sure. This is my first
endeaver into an engine of any kind. Engine starts and runs fine. But the
dripping gas is bothersome. Any ideas? Thanks.
trunk516: I am rebuilding? a carb..I just put the needle valve seat in and I don't
have that fancy seat tool..so I used the blunt end of a drill bit..I have
pressed it in as far as it will go..yet the float still rides too high and
once I install the bowl..it is holding the needle against the seat and I'm
getting no fuel flow. WYF??
Jeremiah Jorenby: HELP i need full rebuild kit for my tecumseh 3.5 HP LEV80 333001A carb !! i
need the part number
Jod Bronson: Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for the 3 vids. I just got a used one
for FREE and it was really helpful to see you take it apart before I do it.
First time doing it so seeing this gave me an idea. Although i'm inclined,
I still wanted to see before I open it to clean it.
A Baze: The line seems good, but I'll replace it just to be sure. Could it be
something electrical like a weak spark or something even though it runs
well after starting?
Ray McKegney: The float had no liquid in it. Looked great. Everything was clean. Maybe
the small white seal is that the pin moves up into is bad or missing? If I
don't have the tool to remove or insert a new one, what would you suggest I
chppper67: thank you very much for your videos, I find them very helpful. Thanks.
donyboy73: usually the kit is #31840 if your carb is adjustable, look on repairclinic
whitegreg56: @darinhwerner Make sure your carb float-bowl nut is tightened to ~4 ft.-lbs.
donyboy73: @Artlay1 don't need a torque wrench, just tighten it enough
Bubaaak: it havent any air filter?
whitegreg56: At 3:00 the nut should be tightened to ~4 ft.-lbs. according to the
Tecumseh manual. If you under tighten, the carb will not function properly.
Just snug isn't enough!
